I used to be the same until I studied sleep and the effects of sleep deprivation.
The sleep we miss out on we never ever regain, even if we sleep more the next night.
There is no top up effect and eventually it has a very serious effect on the body and after years can lead to a constant state of tiredness and unalertness.
