I just got back from seeing Tom Jones
Great show, two thumbs up. There were a couple of times he didn't hit the notes as hard or hold them as long as I expected, but that might just be the difference between live and studio. Either way, that man can sing.
Women aged 21-71 were throwing stuff on the stage and getting into it. There was one old lady (65+ if she was a day) in the front row who actually reached for Tom's crotch at one point and made some very lewd comments when he came over to talk to her; it was hilarious. The show started out with TJ just shuffling around a little bit but he actually got more and more energetic as the show went on. For a man of 66 years, he's still got some boogy left in him. The show was energetic with the audience really getting into it. Tom did a lot of classics and new stuff from the three current CDs he has out. He didn't do "Black Betty", though, which was a disappointment but he did some great covers of Three Dog Night, Jerry Lee Lewis and Howlin' Wolf.
I've been a fan of Tom Jones for a long time but this is the first time I've actually seen him live. The Tom Jones concert is probably the most fun I've had for $75 since I moved to Vegas.
