Rackshack Blacklisting

Hi Guys,

I have been 'lurking' around for a little while, but never really had a reason to post until now. So here goes my GFY duck!

I went to submit a gallery yesterday to FreePicSeries and PinkWorld; and came up with the following message.

"Blacklisted the whole of the net where your gallery is hosted "

I assumed this was because they had blacklisted all Rackshack domains (I know there are no problems with mine, so it wouldn't be me individually).

I wrote to both TGPs pointing out that hundreds (probably thousands) of adult webmasters use rackshack, because the prices are so good, and the bandwidth allowance so generous. and so could my domains be added to some kind of safelist or something, so that I could still submit.

Haven't heard back from Pinkworld yet, but got this back from FreePic Series.

"Hi piccy

We tried to do something about that but rackshack don't want to do something

I got like 30-50 soubmission per day froma russian who use this host and I decided to blacklisted this host

Sorry I can't do nothing about that

(Name Supplied) Webmaster - Freepicseries"

I would guess that quite a few people in here use Rackshack for hosting their sites, galleries etc; and wanted to see the thoughts on blacklisting whole ips.

I realise that cheaters must be a real thorn in the side of tgp owners, but to me this seems pretty odd, because you are blacklisting so many people at the same time.

I realise that blocking an IP will stop this guy for a couple of days maybe, but he after all is only one bad apple; and will only find another host anyway, which rather defeats the point.

In my experience Rackshack aren't in some devilish plot to ruin tgp owners days. They just happen to sell (alot) of dedicated servers at good prices, which by the very nature of bulk does attract the odd dodgy character.

Surely there must be a way of attacking this problem from a different angle? Or at least having some kind of setup so that normal, straight-forward submitters don't get dragged down in the same mess as the cheaters?

Let me know your thoughts.

Have a profitable day!
