10 years ago I started to collect all the sniper rifles from WWII era. I came across this rifle in an estate sale and the old lady never new what she had. I bought the rife for $100, but I truly did not know what I had either. In 1938-39 the Russians send 6 million troops to Finland to expand the empire. The Fins only had an army of 300k and well the Fins beat the living crap out of the Russians. The Russian pulled back due to losing a million men and most of their equipment in the mountain passes and snow. The Fins were known for capturing Russian sniper rifles and customizing them to their preference.

I found out that my rifle was a captured rifle that was used by a Finish sniper. With the rifle came a logbook with the rifle identification number, cleaning, and personal info log. I tried to translate the log, but it kept mentioning ?broken sticks? all the time. I later found out that this term was used for killed Russian soldiers. The Rifle I purchased has 43 ?broken sticks? in its log book with the dates.

These shots were at a 100 meters with factory surp ammo.

Stalin was so outraged about the defeat he killed most of his top generals and due to this Germany launched its invasion in Russia. You can read more info if you like here. also, the worlds best sniper is Finnish with over 500 kills.
