1. The banner is nice but get a nice template/theme to go along with it.
2. You need to actually "blog" with it. To blog means to talk about whatever you're posting about. Come up with a description and whatever else you want.
3. Come up with your own posts and don't rely on the sponsors feeds to cut it.
The whole purpose for blogs is to speak your mind about whatever subject you're writing about and have users be able to comment about them. And the text you blog about will be picked up by the search bots and that's a good thing of course.
