Basically yes, - as a consumer with an increasing volume of new credit cards and constant string of loans from other nations to afford the level of consumption. China alone has more control over US dollars than any other country and are considering dumping some of this - not a good thing for exchange rate/dollars values. The Central Bank of China is still lending the US between $2 and $4 billion daily - and that's only between 20%-25% of daily international borrowings.

The Middle East has no problem selling oil - believe me They don't need the help of the US. The less the US consumes oil - the better off the US will be both economically and environmentally.

Bottom line - it's totally unsustainable.



Sure, there would be a major ripple effect with any nation which has part of their dealings/trading with the US - survival is a totally different story tho.
