The reason is, because the latest terrorist planned attacks uncovered today in the UK. The bombers were going to bomb American Airlines, flying between the UK and the US with liquid bombs that would be kept in with hand luggage.

It may be a slight inconvenience not being able to have liquids on board but is still better than being blown up into a million pieces over the Altantic
