From a google search....
Here is how you can have 2 ICQs on the same computer at the same time. You can send messages to yourself and even invite yourself to an ICQ chat! This is great if you invite other people too! Seeing 2 Moto Racers in the same chat room is a blast! Esp. when one finishes the answer that the other started!
Step 1
You will need to get the Java Development Kit version 1.1.7B for Windows. Click here to get it. It's over 9 megs, but it's well worth it.
Step 2
Now you have to go to the ICQ home page and down ICQ for Java. Since the ICQ home page is a mess to get around, just click here and you can download it. Make sure you get the ICQ for Java for PC platform, not Unix.
Step 3
Now install the Java Development kit that was downloaded. You should install it in the C:\jdk1.1.7B directory.
Step 4
Use Winzip to unzip your ICQ for JAVA into the folder C:\ICQJava. Make sure you check the "Use folder name" option or it will not work. Also use C:\ as the path. If you use C:\ICQJava as the path, winzip will unzip the program to C:\ICQJava\ICQJava and this will mess it up.
Go to C:\ICQJava directory using windows explorer and RIGHT click the icq.bat file (it has a cog in the middle) and a menu will appear. Click EDIT and a windows will appear with text in it.
Highlight all the text and delete it . NOW COPY AND PASTE THE BELOW INFO INTO THE NOW EMPTY WINDOW
set classpath=c:\jdk1.1.7B\lib\classes.zip
set icq_home=c:\ICQJava
c:\jdk1.1.7B\bin\java -classpath %CLASSPATH%;%ICQ_HOME%\ICQ.jar Mirabilis.ICQ.NetAware.CNetAwareApp -path %ICQ_HOME%
pause
OK, depending on the browser you are viewing this page with, you might see the above as more than 4 lines of code. It is just 4 lines of code!
The fist line is "Set classpath............zip"
The second line is "Set icq_home=c:\ICQJava"
The third line is "c:\jdk1.1.7B\bin.............ICQ_HOME%"
The last line is "pause"
Now if you didn't use c:\jdk1.1.7B\ for your Java development kit your gonna have to change the path on first line. Also if you didn't use C:\ICQJava for your unzipped ICQ for JAVA, either change the path or change where you unzipped it back to C:\ICQJava.
Step 5
Run ICQ.bat. Now either it screws up and you'll get an error message or it will start loading. Don't close the the DOS prompt or the ICQ for Java will stop loading. If you get an error message, re-read the steps! If you did it right, it will work!
Step 6
Once ICQ for Java loads up you will have to register a new UIN. If you don't know how to do that, then you have no rights to run 2 ICQs! :-)
Now that you have ICQ for Java running with a new UIN, fire up your ICQ99a and add some people that is on your ICQ99a contact list to your ICQ for Java contact list and have some fun! He he he :-)
