Apparently though your military IS in the business of and quite exceedingly prepared to defend the country from UA, American, and every other rinky-tink airline out there; there are very specific protocols to follow when any sort of weirdness happens out there in the blue heavens.
For example, it took them only seven minutes to scramble two fighters (F-18s I think) after an airliner that reported a very troublesome drunk. Seven minutes, BEFORE 9/11.

I have no theories as to what happened that day, it was terrible, too many people died for nothing. I just don't believe the government "theory" or the 9-11 commission report. Righteous incredible bullshit and white wash, and I don't know that they're friggin hiding, but until they stop the crap the conspiracy theorists, many of them more convincing than the official theorists or version or whatever, will rule the roost and rumor mills.
