Every American does not have European ancestors. Of course it depends on what you define as ancestors, if you want to go back thousands and thousands of years, we all come from the same place.
But based on your follow up of 3 generations, many many Americans definitely do not have European ancestry. Many many come from Africa, Asia, and then the indigenous peoples. I would say South America as well but I'll let you keep that in the European bundle.
