If the subtitles are hard to read its not fun, but if they are clear its fine.
I wrote about this last week. On Kazaa type "ringu" there is the japanese version with english subtitles (very clear video and the English words are easy to read). The file is around 690mb. Download before you go to sleep or something because it takes awhile.
Its much better then the English version.
