Well first of all he supposed to be this hard core Catholic. He even says his mass shit in latin. Second he denied being anti-Jewish when Passion of the Christ came out. He purposedly distance himself from his dad who is a Holocaust denier. Then he goes and ask the cop if he's a jew and says that Jews start all the shit. Which they do a lot of the time, but that's not the point.
