Maybe its just me but I thought the Japanese version was scary and the English one wasn't.

The movies are very similar but the scene near the end with the girl is really shitty on the English version. Too fast and not as creepy.
I dunno, download the ring japanese version on kazaa then watch the English one at the theatre.
