First of all, statistics show it's safer than driving a car. Think about it: we hear about EVERY plane crash on the news, which really goes to show how rare they are. If we heard about ever car crash we'd never be able to hear about anything else.
Secondly, if you're afraid of the bumps and noises that come with flying do this: take a ride in your car. Have someone else drive and sit in the passenger seat. Close your eyes. You'll notice all the same bumps and jolts and weird noises. You're just used to it. Airplanes are "driving" on the air just as cars drive on the road. The road bounces your car all around, and the air does the same to a plane. It's really no different.
You're in good hands. You have a highly trained staff flying you, assisted by some of the best computers in existence. You're going to be fine. Those pilots want to get home to their families and the wife with a headache just as much as you want to get home to yours.

Thanks man.. Good stuff. Actually what really gets to me is those weird 'drops' especially when the plane is descending to proceed to landing. GAwd, I hate those. Ironically the landing is the worse and best part for me. Worse cuz the descending takes forever and best cuz all the weight seems to suddenly get right off my shoulders as soon as I feel that all the wheels are touching the ground... there's nothing more relieving Im telling you :D
