Look at the big TGPs. By that I mean those with the traffic. 89.com, thehun, xnxx, pichunter, shemp and so on. You see a lot of galleries with banner - thumbs - textlink - 2257... Not saying you don't find some " designed" layouts, but for the most part they all seem to carry a lot of "simple" galleries.
I thought the fancy layouts would make my sites "sticky" and thus productivity would go up. When it comes to gallery design, spending hours on a gallery doesn't equal a better conversion rate. The verbiage and content seem to make more of the impact. It's that key to get the surfer to click to the tour that counts or decide to join before he or she gets there.
Couple other points. More traffic doesn't have to mean more sales. More trips to a tour doesn't have to mean more sales either. Trips to the tour does means you have a chance at a sale. Old galleries can work as well as new ones. I don't think worn-out galleries work through.
I also THINK that if a surfer is NOT buying within the first several clicks, he's just collecting free stuff to jerk off too? Still trying to figure if that is absolutely true as a generalization. A surfer may comeback a few or more times times before buying. Esp trues of cam and dating sites.
