I look at it like Iraq. Could the US stop the insurgency relatively quickly? Yes, if they were able to employ the methods that Saddam Hussein was able to, and than some. Will they stop the insurgency anytime soon? Nope. Same thing applies to Israel here. Unless they literally genocide whole villages they won't be able to seriously effect Hezbollah anytime soon. The tide is already turning against Israel in the PR game, and they won't have a chance of achieving what they'd like to this time around. That I am confident of.
