I've been to Southern Lebanon, in fact I have met some of their fighters and ex-fighters, although they don't openly parade them for the most part. A friend of mine (whose cousin was in fact the leader in the Amal division of Hezbollah before being kidnapped by Israel in 1994 [I am sure you can Google to work out who this is]) invited me over there and as usual they are quite friendly to tourists and visitors as they want and need tourist money (glad I am not there now though). The amount of support they have there though is unbelievable and from what I have read, and learnt they are well equipped, very highly motivated and quite well structured. I simply don't believe that Israel has a chance in hell of destroying them, it is not as if they stand around throwing rocks at tanks, and I think you'll see that in the coming months. For the record I have also been to Israel, and am not blinded by some grand Arab message, but I did gain an appreciation for Hezbollah's commitment and capability in my reading of them, and my stay over there.
