I handled an insanity/murder case once. It was this horrible fucken situation out of Van Nuys, California. I thought I would love being Clarence Darrow and all that shit. Worst experience of my life.

All the way through trial, I still could not decide if my client was really insane. He was convicted of first degree murder, so I plead him to second degree on condition of waving his insanity trial (which would happen post-conviction on the underlying count).

I've handled a bunch of murder cases on appeal, but not at trial. I had enough of that shit after one go around.
