They were taken from their homes to concentration camps. I dont think they had a chance nor the time to organize an army to fight the nazi's. There were jews dispersed all over europe, how can they organize an army to fight, in such a short span. Im not jewish, and I personally hate the religous jews with the black hats and stuff but not all jews. But I think its important for any race to have their own country so that a "holocost" scenario doesnt happen again to anyone. Having said that, I think the palestinians need to have their own country also...But ask me should they have israel... I say no, especially not after 60 year or whatever.
