And by HD I figure you mean HDV which is the prosummer format of HD. True HD is HUUUUUUUUGE. Most people have HDV cameras though... I haven't seen an adult company shoot yet in true HD so I wouldn't worry.

3GB is the most amount of memory a non-64Bit OS will address and even then most programs dont take full advantage of thr 64bit OS, plus you have a huge amount of driver issues on the 64bit XP Os
