I much prefer FCP for editing, effects and encoding. If Premiere had a batch encoder I might feel differently though.
The only issue I have with FCP is that it doesn't encode to WMV-HD worth a damn...I have used flip4mac and Cleaner...neither perform as advertized. I have figured out how to get around this...but the lack of batch encoding in premiere means I have to sit at my editing suite rather than letting it run for hours or days at a time like I do with FCP.
