They control the US media, which is the centerpiece of any democracy. From Hollywood to FOX to Viacom to Disney, they've bought it up, and as the saying goes "It doesn't matter who has the weapons, the media decides where they are pointed". Furthermore they have the second richest lobby in the US (only behind the pharmaceuticals lobby I believe) and this lobby has been busted a number of times blabbing about how much power they have to effect US foreign policy (interestingly enough one of the occasions was when a fellow Jewish person was so concerned about the arrogance of these Zionists he taped a conversation with the leader of the Zionist Lobby/AIPAC) and finally they contribute nearly half of ALL political donations between the two major parties. So whilst they might not in raw figures control the US economy, their interest and dedication to politics (particularly Zionist/Pro-Israeli politics) means they have worked themselves into a position in which US foriegn policy is guaranteed to never oppose basically anything Israel does. Make no mistake either, Zionists played a VERY big role in bring the War in Iraq about, they have viewed Saddam as one of their biggest enemies for many years and they pushed extremely hard (as they are now doing with Iran) to get the US over there.
