Another example of how a little reading couldn't hurt.

Solomon's Temple (the First Temple) was destroyed about 600BC when the Jews were exiled into Babylon. Work on the Second Temple began after their return to Jerusalem and it was eventually destroyed by the Romans. When Titus burned and destroyed much of Jerusalem and the Temple, he left three towers and what is known as the "Western Wall" (thought to be part of a retaining wall built by Herod) standing as a reminder to the Jews that they had been conquered.
