I think you missed my point.
You said "Why does it matter to you what his religious beliefs are?" and my point is that a person's religious beliefs DO matter, since religious beliefs are what often drive a person's actions.
For example, the terrorists who flew the planes into the twin towers held the belief that all infidels must be killed. If this was known before, then perhaps these terrorists would never have been able to get flight training. But, since the American system was infected with political correctness at the time, religious belief was not a bar to getting flight training.
So, I was just pointing out that your original statement was wrong. It's a person's beliefs and hence actions which define them - no-one should be taken at face value.
