1. If Israel was targeting civilians, they would have killed far more than the 300 or so over the last 10 days.

A) negotiations.

Only an idiot thinks a 90% civilian death toll is "self defense" or "justified" in any way.
All this is over 2 kidnapped soldiers.. A whole family of canadians on vacation were killed , does that give cananda the right to invade israel and kill 90% civilians as retrobution ?
