I have a decent reason as to why I need to use my own SMTP service: BECAUSE I FUCKING WANT TO. I buy the account, you provide the access. Its none of thier fucking business what I do with my access. If I do something illegal, then whoever has a claim against me can make it out in Court.

I spent hours on the phone yelling at a third level support rep about this when I had ISDN through a little ISP in Michigan. Finally, when I could see that I wasnt getting anywhere and then after I was done having fun with the poor slob I canceled the account and charged back three months of service. (I told them I'd be running my own mail servers when I signed up, they said that was fine since it was a dedicated commerical account).

Soultions for your issue:

1. Run on another port other than 25 or 2525 and change it each time they block it. Run it on port 2526 for starters.
2. Get a new ISP. Be sure to tell them why you are leaving.
3. Get a dedicated server for mail and run on Port 80. Let them block port 80.

Dude, your internet service is a privilege, not a right. They provide the service, they set the conditions. Not happy with those conditions? Then go elsewhere or pay extra to so the account works to your specifications.

And like facialfreak said, get a business account. Don't run your business on a residential account.
