I had the same prob with Maxcash a long long time ago and it was the "&" that got added to the linking code. All you do is put like "blahblah" where you would add the url you are linking to. And when you're all done, open the source in notepad and do a search and replace with your code. Simple.
And you're not crazy... I dunno how the nats codes work, but for me, it was tracking all my hits but not my sales.
