I don't know, but unless there are 80-100 people in this expedition, 1.8 millions is a tad too much. Give me 15-20% of that and I'll hook up that guy and 10 more. And I'm serious, I've contacts with the Foreign for Antactic Affairs (something like that translated from Spanish) in Argentina. And that includes travelling from Europe and/or USA.
As a matter of fact going to Anctartica from here is almost free, you need to get to the air base where you'll be taken to Base Vicecomodoro Marambio in Antartica and then you'll need provissions and any instrumental you may use. Any expedition from that base has a team of people making air and sea surveillance for the safety of expeditionay people. Another way is to go on icebreaker expeditions, they go on Spring (September/October) My father did the Anctartica Expedition, even tho he didn't get to South Pole (it wasn't his intention either). He's still shocked like 30 years later, it was something amazing
