Matt the policy of supporting Israel began way before Bush was elected. This has been the policy of many Democrat Presidents as well.
The Palistinians did elect Hamas, which is a terrorist organization. Once they won the elections, they should have stopped the attacks and tried to go legit. But since this is not happening, they are in essence a "rouge nation" now, so they are going to be hammered.
