I would also make the argument the US actually holds Israel back from wiping out the entire region. In case you do not remember Israel has numerous nuclear weapons and the ability to deliver it.

It does not matter to me that Jews run Israel, or if it was run by Buddhist, Christians or anything else. I only look to see what is best for US interests.
