I let my affiliates choose and change on the fly with just a couple clicks inside their admin. (no link code changing is needed)
They can choose either: no trial, 2.95, 4.95 or 7.95
Overall No trial signups always convert the highest at 50% or higher.
Subsequently the 2.95 trials convert at 30%.
Now on the flip side, the initial signups convert better than the no trial ones.
No Trial initial signups average in the 1:500 - 1:1000 range.
When the 2.95 initial signups convert in the 1:100 - 1:500 range.
Non recurring initial memberships convert in this same range. (even at 34.95 versus the recurring at 23.95)
My magic numbers are 7.95 trial and 23.95 recurring & 34.95 non-recurring.
I've found this to work best for us and I use these as our default settings.
However everyone has their own opinion and markets they promote, therefore we have made every one of these settings customizable with just a few clicks.
This is probably giving away too much information to competition but oh well.
Competition is good.
