Well breaking news. Football (ie the real one with the round ball) is not a contact sport in the way American Football is. Rugby or Aussie Rules is a contact sport similar to American Football so by all means compare.

And another thing going on about helmets ripped off etc etc. Don't wear them in the first place. And junk the padding while you are at it. The hits are bigger in NFL because the players are carrying more weight thereby increasing the impact force. Reduce the weight and you reduce the impact force making it no different to Rugby. The one thing that makes American Football a laughing stock around the world is that absurd amount of protection the players wear. Frankly it is embarrassing.
