Football and Basketball athletes should never be compared to soccer players. Its not fair to the soccer players. The biggest, fastests, strongest, quickest soccer players try out to be field goal kickers on College football teams. Some make it, most dont.

Explanation: Professional athletes seriously develop their skills at a young age, most likely high school. At most US high schools, thousands of people from the community go to the high school football game on Friday night where the cheerleaders cheer, the band plays, and the stands are packed. The newspapers and local news cover the stars of the games.

At those same high schools, the soccer games are played the following saturday morning with no one but the players parents there to watch. They play on saturday to keep from screwing up the grass on the football field before a game.

In europe, the best athletes grow up playing soccer. In the US, the best athletes play primetime sports.
blablablabla... soccer is the #1 sport of the world, period.
