Agreed, it broke the all time one day box office opening record and MIGHT break the weekend record too. That cliffhanger shit really sucked though. That's what might kill it at the vine this weekend or early this week.
However, the special effects were so outstanding you have to go back and see it ten times just to see everything.
It has the all time 'EWWWWWWW!' factor for a movie though. It was sooooo fucking gross I could barely eat. They realize we're trying to eat during the movie but the evil pirate crew's makeup was so fucking gross and horrid if I was a kid I would be having nightmares for years.
The comedy was fine but the audience didn't cheer like in an Indiana Jones movie. The audience was rather let down at the ending and of course there was the 'wait and watch all the credits to see the surprise credit ending' thingie.
So it's fuck yeah worth seeing just for the special effects and that makeup on the characters. There is no other movie that can come close to the makeup in this movie. That fuckin Davey Jones octopus head thingie was so outstanding nothing else comes to mind except the first Planet of the Apes because the makeup was great but the actors knew how to work that shit to the point their characters became believable and enduring.
Fucking A. Go see it for the special effects, horror, makeup and humor.
