Stuff like that used to happen in the sixties a lot, or used to be all over the media more, because they were more liberal - ie more fair-minded - than the media is now. Stuff like this appears almost only on the net now.
If that guy had been wearing a Veterans For War shirt, or Veterans for AMDs shirt... what would have happened? He would have been taken for a parodist? And still busted...
Saying stuff like the US media is liberal nowadays is completely off kilter. The media has turned so right wing, so pro-republican, they make the ABC News of the 70s look like the socialist news report.
Try watching the BBC, the CBC, or any responsible international news reporting agency. For christ's sake, Aljazeera is more even handed than CNN most of the time...
