I've known my doctor since we were in HS together. He cares about me

Hospitals are OK. I know when I had my blood transfusions they had "floating" nurses from different hospitals that came there and worked when they needed them. However, they would only allow actual employees of the hospital (and there had to be 2) to give the transfusions. Usually the squeaky wheel gets oiled if you have an issue with the hospital.
My mom's a midwife and she's great. She works in Alabama where she drives to the hospital there, works 60 hour shifts (not straight since she only needs to be there when the baby's coming out) and makes an absurd amount of money.
