It took me some time to figure out who you were talking about at first because I usually am rather courteous in my business proceedings. First off, it says right on our website
twice (on the contact and consulting pages) that we are not taking new clients, see the quotes below:

NOTICE: AT THIS TIME WE ARE ONLY ACCEPTING CLIENTS ON AN INVITE BASIS ONLY. WE REGRET ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS MAY CAUSE BUT THIS ACTION IS NECESSARY TO CONTINUE PROVIDING OUR LEVEL OF SERVICE FOR OUR EXISTING CLIENT BASE. THE CONSULTING REQUEST FORM WILL RETURN ONCE THIS REQUIREMENT IS DISCONTINUED.

Next, the person who initially icq'd me was rather rude about his way of soliciting business with a message like this:

6/22/06 7:35PM who i gotta blow to get you to work with me on SE?

Fine, you ignore my website and ICQ me directly, I'll reply to that in which I did say that I work on an invitation basis. I was hoping that was the end of it, but apparently I was wrong as every few days I got emails and ICQ's. Most of which are addressed to Michael. If you're going to have an aggressive sales pitch, take a minute to learn my name and read the site.
So, your friend doesn't even know my name, continously spams my ICQ (don't bother ICQ'ing me anymore, he's on my ignore list now) and email and refuses to take no. I'm sorry, but my patience has run dry. I get at least 5-8 people a day asking for traffic and to look at their sites that I don't have the time to keep saying no means no. You can tell your friend to find another SEO, I prefer to work with clients who aren't so needy or desperate.
And lastly, to address your common courteousy question, I treat all my clients with the upmost respect. I'm probably the only affiliate in this business who goes out of their way to sincerely thank the sponsors, clients and regularly send gifts and appreciations. Now I'm sorry that you don't see that, but ask anyone who I actually work with and I'm sure they'd back up this side of me. There's a reason I only take clients on an invite basis, its to treat them with the best level of service and respect possible.
Regards,
Charles (<-- You can pass that to him as he apparently doesn't know my name still)
