America will open up talks with North Korea as a result of this. Whether or not those talks are made public is another matter. There will be some posturing from our side, but in the end, one can only play the diplomacy card in this situation. North Korea doesn't have to save money to build more nukes. They're in bed with China. There will be no invasion. We don't invade countries that have nukes. Mutually assured destruction makes "friends" out of enemies. Realistically I don't see any war or any threat coming out of this. It was a political move by North Korea. Behind the scenes we give some concessions and agree to secure their sovereignty and the problem fades away.
