People want to be treated with the same respect and have the same rights as others, as well they should. Just because someone is different, doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed that respect and those rights.

racism exists for the same reason any living organism on this planet with a brain favors associating with its own kind. like people strongly favor like people. they tend to reject different people. its basic biology and a behavior that has been learned to be an effective and generally correct behavior over the 10,000,000 years or so that people have been on the planet.
