I guess living in NY, around civilized human beings, I forget that a good chunk of my country is still inhabited by ignorant, hateful, racist rednecks who still do not understand the emancipation proclamation or the civil rights act. No wonder gay bashing is still an acceptable political maneuver in parts of this country. Shameful.

I wonder how long it will take for evolution to fix these neanderthals. Or maybe we need another civil war, and this time we do it for real and really wipe them out.
