A parent can only do so much to protect their child and sometimes it?s nearly impossible to do so. If a parent does his or her job by explaining to the kid the dangers that such risks entail (drug use, talking to online strangers, etc.) and maintains a decent watch on his child?s online activity, and the child still manages to fuck up, then I really don?t see why the parent should be held accountable. I guess they could install key loggers but then we get into the debate of how much rights, if any, should minors have.

bullshit.
1 kids dont use the computer unless parents are home.
2. computer is in family room or room with access to everyone, not behind closed doors.
3. parents periodically check on kid to see what he is doing online.
4. kids only use internet for educational purposes. they want to play game, play xbox, they want to talk to friends they use cell phone. I had to wait till i was 17/18 to drive, playing online unsupervised is worse then giving them the keys to your car and telling them to go take a joy ride.
5. install software for those times that they do a search for white house, lol and I wouldnt let them have email, too many assholes sending porn (nudity) in mass emails.
If you do that explain to me how they would be exposed to it.
Also a huge amount of education of the dangers of the internet.
Oh wait all that i mentioned is asking too much of parents, it is easier for them to ignor the problem and let the govt try to get ride of porn LOL. good luck trying.
