I have been reading some of your posts and they are interesting--specially re religion. As an atheist, how would you feel if everything of value to you is violently ripped from you? Basically, everything of comfort you have has been reduced to nothing.
I understand a believer would turn to his god or supernatural philosophy and try to find some meaning. Those who follow Nietzche and the concept of "good" and "evil" would find this shallow and weak.
What would an atheist do? Turn inward and just accept that the world is unfair and there is really no justice and that life is meaningless? Is this necessarily bad or empty? What if he is to realize that it could have been him behind the trigger as well? Is this a condemnation of the heart of man?
For centuries, classical philosophers and theologians have argued that the concept of God or "higher" beings separate us from animals. Is this a conceit? Is this an artificial separation? Is morality a fiction? Is Nietszche correct in arguing that a heightened reality is heightened strength...beyond morality? That the ability to pull the trigger, to impose judgment, and to punish...makes you the law, make you ...the end point of judgment?
Personally, I have my doubts.
