ULTIMATE domain protection..

How would someone protect a domain name they bought like for 50 or 100k? I mean, there must be some other protection than just the regular registrar-lock feature. What do the ppl who own sex.com, men.com, business.com,etc.. do? What registrar do they use? I mean, they don't just have them at a regular registrar(like godaddy) and wait till someone hijacks their account or email account. Can you like register it directly through ICANN? I know dotster has a "namesafe" feature that protects to the registry level, but thats still just a registrar feature, not something with the registry itself,if dotster goes bankrupt, that feature becomes pointless, and where does your domain go when a registrar goes bankrupt?? So many questions, I looked all over google for some higher domain protection, but couldn't find anything really useful.
Or am I just being too paranoind? I know I have somewhat severe OCD, but I think this doesn't really apply. I wanna invest some serious money in domains, but all these hijacking stuff is driving me nuts.
