Hell, I wouldn't want mandatory guard rails around all of the canals!!! I actually wrote a letter urging them to veto it. You are obviously not from Miami. First of all the whole county is COVERED with canals and waterways and the cost would be absolutely staggering. Second, it would mean that if you have a canal in the back of your place, (which I do), then the government would come along and put up a fence or guard rail. HELL NO!!
If you lived down here you would understand. It would ruin it if there was a mandatory rail around every one of the thousands and thousands of canals and waterways all over this county. Open access to the water is one of the things that makes Florida so nice.
