Agree with you there.

Even with that said, though, we must not forget about the benefits that religion has brought to the world. Sure, a lot of bad effects have been seen, and there are issues in old scriptures that almost noone in the modern world agrees with but that doesn't mean the remaining 90% of these religions that dont deal with violence but rather with good manners and such are worthless..

Again, I'm not saying the fucked up stuff isnt there or that it isn't as fucked up as we all agree on that it is, but we shouldn't let that dominate our general view of the religion. An even better point is that the bad elements of these religions have been largely removed from the followers of the religions, so there's not much to worry as long as we DONT tell eachother that the only good member of another religion/group/race is a dead one...
