The truth of the matter is that sex sells, no matter if your pushing porn or trying to sell cars. Open up any woman's mag these days; Their photo content is very close to porn.
The entry barrier to getting into this industry is very low; Anyone can do it. Hell, I started with zero investment and free hosting on Geocities. New programs are opening up every day, some better than others, and only the strong will make it in the long run. I've already seen too many people open up their own program and fail in a horrible way.
What's going to happen in this industry is the same as any other emerging industry - It will be led by a hand full of people who will make great money for a long time, and then the large fish will swallow up the little fish. You see this already with Playboy buying up ICS and Jenna; I also know of two VERY large and VERY mainstream companies who are about to enter into the porn market (one in August and one in January).
Anyone knows who profits the most from porn? If I told you it was General Motors you'd all think I'm on crack. But it's true.
