I have the ones installed in my house that turn the lights and ceiling fans on and off. Oh, I have a couple of dimmer switches (which I hate - previous owners put them in and I've been too lazy to change them out) and I have about 4 switches that aren't connected to anything. But the on and off function is all I've ever had to worry about in my almost 45 years of having light switches and all mine work perfectly
