Smoking is bad, and does cause cancer, but's it clearly a scapegoat. Our insane cancer rate these days comes from air and water pollution and our artificial food. Not to mention our exposure to radiation.
Think about it. The smoking rate in the 1940's was 1000's of times what it is today. What was the cancer rate back then? Sometimes common sense goes a long way.
I'm not necessarily saying don't ban smoking, I'm saying it would be a much better use of time to ban the things that are actually giving us cancer.
What's worse, this...
Or this:
Or how about this:
Until we wise up and ban the things that really kill us, smoking should at least be allowed in places that have extremely good ventilation systems. Or at least have designated smoking locations, like the airport.
FYI I don't smoke.
