Who gives a shit if popups can be annoying for web surfers or not? Since consoles can increase my profits up to 20% I'm going to use them "until the end". Wtf, even yahoo has popups. I run some TGPS, and hence don't use popups. I also believe that surfers who are treated to a popup hell when clicking a sponsor banner, are less likely to click a second time. This reduces CTR, and cuts into my bottom line.
That was my webmaster point of view, as a surfer they piss me off when more then 1 opens.
Yahoo uses 1 popup, ok I actually think 0-1 popup is ok. Do you see yahoo chain 12 together then unload the surfer to offshoreclicks or some bullshit?
Popups are a neat idea but they are being abused. If the choice is every site with loads of popups or none, I would select none. We ruined them, so I look forward to the day they are no more.
