I don't think people should give up on partnerships though. That's kinda like saying, "oh shit, my husband/wife treated me like shit, i'm never getting married again!"

Then again, I've never been big on getting married. I guess my point is. You gotta let someone earn your trust (not just give it), but you're still going to get burned every now and then. I still think in the long haul you're better off for the times you don't get burned.
